In PHP, you can call a function inside a string variable by enclosing the function call in curly braces {} and prefixing it with a dollar sign $ . This is called variable interpolation.

Here's an example:

$name = "John";
$greeting = "Hello, {$name}!";

In this example, we define a string variable $greeting that contains the name variable $name inside curly braces. When the string is evaluated, the value of $name is inserted into the string, resulting in the final string "Hello, John!".

You can also call a function inside a string variable using the same syntax. Here's an example:

$greeting = "Hello, {strtoupper($name)}!";

In this example, we use the strtoupper () function to convert the value of $name to uppercase before it is inserted into the string. The resulting string would be "Hello, JOHN!".

Note that not all functions can be called inside a string variable. Only functions that return a value can be used. If you want to execute a function that does not return a value, you should call it separately before or after creating the string variable.
